THE LAUNCH!!!!

Well that was a blast.

I started the day relatively slow. I was placed in a line up with the rest of the Visprint heavy-weights. To my right was Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, creators of Trese, and to my left was Mannix Abrerra, creator of Kiko Machine. Soon after, Carlo Vergar, creator of Zsa Zsa Zsaturnahhh, occupied the seat right next to me.

Needless to say, my poor little comic book was struggling to find air time in the steady stream of fans heading towards these giants of Philippine comic books.

I busted out my sales call: FILIPINO HEROES LEAGUE - WORLD-CLASS STORY TELLING AT THIRD-WORLD PRICES. I got strange looks so I stopped promptly.

In the end though, a lot of their fans picked up the book and bought and others actually sought me out!

A big thanks to everyone who picked up a copy! In a weeks time, it will be available in National Bookstore, I heard. I'll confirm.

For those who are abroad, I'm still trying to figure out a way I can deliver through an online store or something.

Again, thanks to those who bought! You made my day.

PS. EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS GOES TO BUDJETTE, WELLA, CARVER, MANNIX AND KAJO FOR GUIDING ME THROUGH MY FIRST BOOK LAUNCH. Oh an extra-extra special thanks to Nida for giving me the opportunity.

  1. Yeah, I did get my copy... And I really enjoyed it a lot!

I read it twice already come Sunday morning, and I have to say, it's really awesome!!! If I may be so bold, it's like I'm reading the Pinoy Watchmen: it explores a deeper reason for the what/why/how of everything and the potential for other stories is truly enormous. I, for one, am very interested to know how the original FHL defeated The Touch and his lieutenants: Supremo's battle with The Touch must've been epic...

I really have no complaints on how the story flowed and FHL's humor is really, well, humorous; I laughed a lot of times that I would care to admit. (Although I believe that revealing that the President, made more despicable by his mole, is not the supposed root of evil is a bit early; unless that's part of the many twists that FHL will have.)

I can't wait for Book 2!!! See you next 'Kon, Vis... er, Jaime... I mean, Paolo :D

    Regards,
    Miko

    P.S.

Sorry for disturbing your lunch, but I enjoyed our small chat as well. Thank you for taking time talking to one of your fans.

    P.P.S.

I think it's Manix who's on your left...

  2. Hahahahaha! You're right - Mannix was on my left.

I'll just say I'm glad you enjoyed - I don't want to say anything else in case I might reveal something.

I enjoyed our little chat as well. Get some rest and see you next Kon!!!!!

    Hopefully with book 2. :)

  7. I enjoyed reading it, bitin nga lang! Hehe! Loved the artwork and I also really liked the concept of OFH's. Even heroes look for greener pastures pala. Particularly loved the pedicab route of Kidlat Kid. Haha! And the mole on the president? Brings bad memories. :P

Looking forward to the next issue. Pakibilis lang. Hehe!
